Message: A cheaper/affordable university. There really is no student life here as far as I am aware (no bands, no major sports other than basketball). Therefore, it is very hard to find/make new friends at Athens. It's pretty easy to find your way around due to it being an extremely small college campus. They have a few professors who are actually great. The rest are meh.

Message: Fiddlers Convention was a great experience! Lots of craft vendors, food vendors and the competitors. My wife and I had a wonderful time. Cannot believe this was our first time in the 13 years we have lived here.

Message: Proud to be an Athens State alum.. I can only talk about the College of Business, but I can tell you that EVERY professor genuinely cares about their students and wants them to be able to learn as well as succeed.. The only drawback is that a very large majority of classes are online with no on-campus option. However, some people like it that way.. While Athens State University may not have a sterling reputation like a lot of the state schools, it will provide you with an education to make you knowledgeable and competitive in the job market today.

Message: I returned to college after more than twenty years. I was very nervous about being able to complete my dream of a degree. Athens State University was definitely the best option for me. The small school atmosphere and attention shown from professors was the greatest I have seen. The amount of knowledge I gained has me prepared to face the job market. Message: Athens is a great university. The faculty is great. A lot of them do their best to help you succeed, and love to use outside sources in their teaching to get a real world feel and prepare you for your future. The only issue is the very low amount of student activities. This is mainly due to them not having sporting teams, and to because they have a lot of distant learning students. Their positives out weigh there negatives greatly though.

Message: It's a pretty good school. Unlike many other places the teachers generally care about you as a study and want you to do well. And the staff is very efficient at getting things processed in a timely matter.. The only thing I do not care for about the school is that it lacks any type of young student presence but if you are just looking for a reasonable education with convenient schedules it's a great choice.
